How long have you been in business/been doing hair dressing?

The salon has been open three years this October. I have been a hairdresser for 15 years, and a National Educator for John Paul Mitchell Systems for almost 6. As a National Educator for JPMS, I receive training and assessments at least twice a year on the latest techniques in the industry. Traveling to teach other hairdressers, and presenting at industry shows keeps you on your toes, and you strive to challenge yourself. I am constantly honing my skills, which is reflected when I am behind the chair at work.

What is your favorite thing about having your business?

My favorite thing about my business is that it gives me the chance to help guests feel confident in themselves. I would like each person to leave with a smile on their face, and with a positive outlook on the day. A good hair day makes all the difference! I truly believe that one of the strongest skills required to be a hairdresser is the skill of LISTENING. I've heard many people complain that they just didn't feel that their needs and desires were really heard and addressed by their hairdresser.
